Magnificent Monday: Travis had no school!

To start the day:
Travis is officially out of school for the week and is going to devote much of his days to studying after Maddix and I leave to Germany on Wednesday, but for today, he was all ours. This morning he even did my Insanity work out (good thing it's a recovery, or lighter, week because a cold and working out just don't mix!) Afterward My stinky men needed bathes
THEN Maddix saw daddy eating corn flakes and needed some of his own, and when those were gone he took it upon himself to get some more; like a big boy:
Good Times. It was a brand new bag too.
So after cleaning up this mess, and several others that mommy and daddy had made, we took a walk to the Real and prepared for our fun day with the missionaries: Lunch-Settlers of Catan- Then back to the town we visited on Saturday-Then ended it with another round of Settlers
Pancakes, French Toast, and a couple of Omelettes
The rental car's GPS (Cleo) took us a new way... it was just as 'off the path' as the other route

But we got there safe and sound
An old well in the town

I thought this roof was crazy

Loved that we were there for the sunset
Maddix insisted that he climbed the stairs by himself like one of the guys

Then we had some more of the yummy ice cream
Love my boys, and love the sunset over the river

I just loved this little cottage in the woods. I wonder about the lives of the people living there
Then the day came to a close as the sunset

It was a pretty great day, and Maddix once again enjoyed having some more guys to look up too! As if daddy wasn't already the best!

Quick P.s. We just wanted to note Nala's birthday that was two days ago, Happy 3rd birthday!! You are one in a million! And we miss you so so very much!

A Gorgeous Sunday... and I'm in bed

Once again I must start off by saying "WHAT A BEAUTIFUL SABBATH DAY!"

These are some of the views of our area since it greened over night. Be prepared. I'm sure I'll be posting more spring pictures over the next few weeks.

Well we started this wonderful morning off by having Travis' classmate, John, over for french toast this morning, and then Travis went to church while Maddix and I both stayed home because we were once again not feeling the best. So funny enough, this cold, or virus, or whatever it is that has me sick... could possibly by me teething!

When I had my wisdom teeth out, they left in one because my jaw had room to allow the tooth to come in, and I believe it is now coming in.
So to my dear little Maddix: I'm sorry when I get mad at you for throwing fits, fussing, refusing to eat, and all around just feeling lousy because I now understand, I feel for you, and teething is the WORST. Sorry Buddy.

While Maddix took a nap I turned on some Anne of Green Gables because that's what I always watched when I used to get sick. Then when Travis came home he was sweet enough to let me stay in bed all day... so I watched some more Anne movies all the way until the elders came over for soft tacos (with homemade taco shells). So to recap: Very Pretty day, fevers for Maddix and I, lots of tissues on the floor next to my bed, LOTS of poopy diapers for Maddix from teething, and a wonderful Travis who took care of the house and cooking today. Thank you hunny, and I'm so glad you're home for the week. We've missed you. And now we can enjoy more views like these

~Ending our Week with the Mecham's~

Friday: Each day keeps becoming more and more beautiful, and if over night, spring has sprung and everything is green. So after we got home from the pool we put Maddix down for a nap and played tag outside for awhile; and we actually got a sunburn. Then that night, we had Movie and Pizza Night!
Like this face right here!

These are the faces that were being silly at Maddix... that were making  him make faces like
After the pizza was delivered we put in a movie and they all watched a movie while I went to bed early, as I'm coming down with a cold... I think I picked something up from that soccer game we played with all the children the other day... all their dirty germs just overwhelmed my system that is not used to being around anyone anymore!

Saturday's Doings:
Click on this pic: You'll see the neighbor farming with no shirt. Common sight now  that the weather is warming up.

So Happy to be in the driver's seat
So after getting the house put in order we decided to hook up the GPS and drive to kazimierz dolny to enjoy the weather, and having Travis around for the first time this week.

This is the sort of "heavy" traffic we ran into on the way. LOTS of tractors, and a couple of horse and buggies; only in Poland
Okay, in these pictures you can see that the roads are fairly nice and even, but some of the roads on the gps got PRETTY sketchy. We began to argue with the woman's voice on the gps so much that we decided she needed a name: Lola. And here are some places that Lola decided to take us:
These are the trees that inspired Dr. Seus' trees in his books:)

One minute we were on a road, and the next thing we knew we were on some dirt road in the middle of NOWHERE and this lonely cow was tide up in a field... Travis had to make fun of the cow for being alone (what'a jerk)

We were on this lonely little dirt road  for quite some  time with no signs that Lola was going to get us to kazimierz dolny.

Where the Heck ARE WE?!

Seriously Lola? Into a grove of trees?
BUT despite her best efforts to send us into an abandoned field in the middle of nowhere we did finally make it and we enjoyed the town:
Yes, people still travel this way

Loved the pirates ships all along the lake

At the entrance of the town of kazimierz dolny

View from the rooftops on the way to a castle tower

Hike to a graveyard at the top of hill
The tower across from the hike

Hiking up to the tower

Reached the top... wahoo. Thanks Bailey for the picture

Notice Mckay about to eat it as he slipped off the curb, ha ha

Really? Homemade Patchwork overalls.. and these were not even close to the most ridiculous looking overalls we saw (and they were everywhere)

Their town square
Grim Reaper was just waiting for an unsuspecting victim... to ask for a photo and then  CHARGE them for it. Muahahah. Evil!

Enjoying some ice cream before the drive home

Running back to the car

I think we finally wore them out!!
You can't see it real well, but Maddix ate it hard and ripped up his elbow! My poor boy.

Other than that he really enjoyed the day and was devastated when Becky and Pres. Mecham came home and he no longer got to truck around with these two boys:
He loved so much to be one of the big boys this week.
Thanks Becky for trusting us with your three little beloved's, we had a blast:)
