~Just About 3 Months~

In a few more days it will be safe to say we have been here for three months! Can that be possible? I feel like we have been striving everyday since we got here to: 1- Find a routine 2- Enjoy ever moment we get with Travis and 3- Make the most of what New York has to offer. Some days I feel like we our really succeeding, yet other days I feel like I'm doomed to fail at this whole being a go-getter-mom-thing :D Then it seems like once we get in a good groove, someone gets sick, bleh; however, overall we are doing really well.
We are blessed. We are happy!
Life is good

Baths together are becoming a favorite
thing at night

"Workin' at the Carwash, yeah!"

Digging at the park

Actually cuddling up with Mama

Yum

Working on our weather bands during school time

We thought soccer got rained out, so we
played in the puddles, and then found
out soccer was on and played anyways

The boys like to walk the dog around the block

Just goofing in the back.
We've started having Sunday Morning Pancakes

His hair is becoming curly

He melts my heart

It started as a bubble of water in the ceiling,
And then ended with a hole with water pouring
through:)
It's times like this I'm grateful
I'm just the tenant!
Travis is in his surgery rotation which means he's almost NEVER home... I'm not exaggerating. So in the evenings I've been letting the boys stay up a little late so they can see Travis for a few minutes. While he snuggles them for a bit and gets them to bed, I get to go unwind from the day with a nice run; I'm hoping to run the AF Half Marathon while we visit, as long as my foot can hold up. Aaron is NEVER happy to wake up and find Travis gone, and his devastation usually lasts all day until he returns.

 American Air Power Museum
Travis had his first day off on Friday so we made the most of it! I went and did laundry so Travis could have time with the boys, then when it was done we drove out to Long Island and visited the Air Power Museum. Because it was Memorial Day Weekend they had all the old planes out and flying around. While we were driving past the runway we happened to be there at JUST the right moment that about 10 planes circled over head and then flew directly at us, as they flew over our car and touched down on the runway on our left; it was amazing to watch, like being in a movie. And the boys FREAKED OUT! They were overly excited, we could've turned around right there and they'd been satisfied... however, then continued begging for more planes even as we left:)

And then later on, I was reminded that I have an almost TWO year old on my hands. Aaron is into everything! He is becoming more determined to do everything on his own. He likes to prepare his own breakfast, like Maddix. He likes to carry his OWN blanket to cuddle in during movies; like Maddix. He wants to walk instead of ride in the stroller. He wants to get himself in and out of his crib. Get himself in and out of the tub. You get it...

This Sunday we had the new set of sisters over for dinner and as Maddix was cleverly answering their questions, he brought up how we was a bit disappointed that he still didn't have his own Book of Mormon, when all of a sudden the sisters pulled out a copy and gave it to him. Made was so excited to begin reading his OWN book that he went running to his bed before the lesson was even finished; he is so excited to have his own book:)

Week 10: So long it could've been two

As it states in the title, this week could have easily been two. I keep looking over all our pictures and trying to remember when we did all these different things; for example, it was only this past Monday that I finished the last book in the series. It was only last Tues when we went to the beach. Travis has only been home since Wednesday night... you see what I mean. I really fear this "mom brain" of mine is getting worse. I know our generation is overly preoccupied with taking pictures, so much so that we actually have the 'Selfie Stick' as a real product.... geesh... but I take pictures because without them I literally wouldn't remember what I did three hours ago, let alone three days ago!
Anyway...
As I was saying we actually had a pretty well packed week and it just got better with each day Travis was home. He was gone a lot but come the weekend he was so fatigued from not sleeping over the past few weeks, that we just decided we would take Sat-Sun and let him catch up on sleep before trying to hit the books come Monday (tomorrow, boo).
This week I also had a RS activity where we did Manicures, we took a walk up to the park and chased every squirrel we could find, I came down with a little cold and traded Travis tasks so I could just sit in the laundromat and he walked Maddix down to soccer. We were all excited Travis got a chance to take Maddix to soccer; it's a highlight in our week and we all love going. After soccer we got to talk to Uncle Garret who's serving in Madagascar for early Mother's day conference call. Later we went and explored a nearby park which once housed the World Fair and is a really cool place. We then grilled hamburgers and corn and had a wonderful Mother's Day Eve meal.
For Mother's Day Maddix and Aaron gave us one of the worst mornings... heck! They were so awful. All I could think as Travis and I cleaned our extremely dirty house, and the boys screamed and through fits was "Man, some Mother's day this is." :) But Man, they couldn't have reminded me more of what being a mom is all about then they did today: It's not glamorous. Travis made me one of my favorite breakfasts, we went to church, then had the Elders over for dinner; we even got to eat out back on our newly set up patio furniture that our Landlord was kind enough to let us use while we're here.

Oh, and U. Bryce got engaged.
Congratulations!
