~ Only 2 more days until it's adios to October! ~

The best thing I can report since my last update...
is that this month only has TWO more days in it!!!!!!!!!!!
Okay, so there are cooler things to report:
like my newest nephew was born last Sunday;
Welcome to the world little Dallin Vaughn Johnson :)

Travis
He has gone all out this month to become a scary zombie like creature, in honor of Halloween; or perhaps it's because he hasn't really slept in 29 days? This month has just been THE. WORST.
He's out the door by 11:45am on Mondays and 5:50pm all the other nights. Home anywhere between 6:30am-10:00am (the next day). Then he sleeps until about 1:30pm, while being paged every few hours.
Then he is a zombie and sits in a shower for an hour, trying to wake up, and then the kids and I see him after I get back from picking them up from 3:30-5:30pm.
Oh and he doesn't even have a full day off... this is how the whole month has gone, with the only exception being when he pulls 24hr shifts when his lady's go into labor when he isn't at work and he has to go back in and deliver them.
When he is done, he will never touch OB again!

Lacey
Finished my audio book, Count of Monte Cristo (it was 117 chapters) and took forever because I wouldn't finish it in time for my check-out session and then I'd have to go on a waiting list to get it back.
I've really enjoyed Aaron being my errands buddy; he is the best.
I got to go on a rewards-date with Maddix
My wonderful friends threw and attended a Bohemian themed baby shower for me :)
Maddix actually let me snuggle him one night and our conversation was amazing!
I've been making it to the pool to try and work off this newly set in swelling, as well as rehab my back.

Maddix
Oh man... we've gone from struggling at school to being so well behaved; we're so proud of him.
As a reward he chose time with mommy; we went biking around Big Blue, fed the fish, and just laughed and laughed.
Umm... we found and had to treat the early stages of lice!! Ugh. But it wasn't bad.
He showed us a "secret Path" from his school yard to a river trail.
Got a flu shot and handled it like a champ.
His Friday Fam Movie night choice: Angry Birds.
Was in charge of last week's F.H.E lesson... WOW! It blew me away. He did it on the Word Of Wisdom and had me color all the items we are/aren't supposed to have, according to the W.o.W and then he placed them on his Chutes and Ladders board and we played the game: when you landed on something like cigarets or alcohol you got sent back, and when you landed on good spaces you advanced; it was so clever and he came up with all by himself!
Took him to get a haircut and he insisted on the "Bruce Wayne" haircut, ha ha.
Was a great helper at the Ward Service project to rake leaves.
Loved having his friend from class come to the house and play.
Enjoyed the bounce house, corn maze, and pumpkin picking this weekend.
Really enjoyed carving his pumpkin with Dad tonight.

Aaron
This kid... so stinkin' cute!
Is over the moon anytime we visit daddy at work; he misses Travis SO much.
He insisted on helping me mow the lawn and held the handlebars while I pushed.
Super into legos all of a sudden.
Also loves doing Halloween art projects.
And Halloween snacks with me.
When we have snack time he recently decided that we're off duty cops at some diner and he makes us talk about our day so far, using deep cop voices.
All about the dress up box.
Chose the F.H.E activity: Family walk... that actually turned into us riding scooters over at the school.
His Friday Fam. Movie choice: Harry Potter with creepy snacks (bloody apple mouths, graham cracker bandaids, and spider popcorn)
Is so genuinely grateful for his blessings, and expresses it often.
Loved finding mini pumpkins for he and Adeline.
Also got a flu shot: it took me and two nurses to hold him down. Then through tear filled eyes asked, "mama, do I still get a piece of candy for being brave? (sob sob)" he he he.

Adeline
Is officially safe to come whenever now... so... Come meet us little sister!
I think she is trying to break out. The boys got to watch her and were disgusted and super intrigued as she popped all around.

Nala
Had a minor surgery to remove a giant cyst that was growing on her back and causing her lots of pain :(
Dr. Johnson did such a good job though and she seems SO happy and energetic again!

As A Family
We had the primary practice and program last week; the boys surprised me and actually were well behaved!
We loved our Ward Trunk-or-treat.
The boys had a "camp out" last Sunday and pulled out a ton of toys in the back.
Family games.
Lots of snuggles as the weather has completely dropped.

Two weeks of rain... one week of this beauty... and now it snows.

Primary Program Practice with a stuffed animal audience and a Pizza reward

 My Bohemian Themed Baby Shower.
Special Thanks to Jodi Cannon for hosting it,
and thanks to all that came!

Regina George (Mean Girls)

You may or may not be familiar with the movie Mean Girls.
Regina George is a ring leader of a group of mean girls.
In a scene near the end she has a realization that she's been double crossed and she lets out this scream....
... this scream that she's broken, defeated, angry, insane with rage and sorrow, and in the movie it's a seriously hilarious moment.
In our house when I had my own "Regina George" moment, it wasn't funny until afterward.

Call it end of pregnancy blues. Blame it on Travis's straight up AWEFUL schedule this month
(his shifts are 14-18hrs long, w/ less than 24 hrs off... and he's always groggy).
It could be due to the fact that Mason City RAINS all the time and I'm so sick of grey clouds.
Or the fact that my children are both at VERY challenging stages at the moment, at the same time, and I feel like I'm fighting a losing battle against two insanely cute little monsters.
Whatever you want to call it, it resulted in a complete
Regina George moment Tuesday night.
~Guys~
Maddix had me so on edge.
Aaron pooped himself because he waited too long.
And then, just after getting Aaron out of the tub from his mess, laying out fresh pjs,
and vacuuming the boys' rug,
the dog happened.
Why?!
WHY?!
Just as I think the night is over she comes in and poops in a full circle around my boys, on their pj's/vacuum/them...
and as I go chasing her out of the room, I discover more in the hall;
I made this discovery with my foot.
THIS is when the shiz hit the fan

I don't think my boys have EVER seen me come apart like I did.
Aaron ran to time out out of instinct.
Maddix tried offering a hug and saying, "i'm going to pray for you."
I ended up blubbering to Travis about how I was just DONE. :)
End result: Travis's hospital sent him home immediately for a 20min break
so he could not only put the boys to bed, but me as well.
I was asleep by 9:00, Doctor's orders.

I just can't say enough good about Travis.
He is the best dad to our children.
The incredibly BEST husband to me.
A giving neighbor, friend, and ward member.
A fantastic physician.
And when he's given all he has, he digs a little deeper and finds more.
So thank you love.
While this gloomy cloud has found a spot to linger over my head,
I find comfort in the little holes in the cloud, with light peering through that you've provided me.

And that's really all I have to say about this month so far.
October is one I don't wish to remember.
But... let's add some cute photos so we end on a happier note!

He's so into dress ups as of late

He LOVED babysitting and wanted to
do EVERYTHING for
Baby Jay

On the way to Minneapolis to get our
windshield redone I just loved
the fall colors

Friday Movie night snuggles

Last play of the last game of the season.
Way to go Moormon Clothiers!

35 Weeks and huge,
as everyone likes to point out.

Sunday Snuggles

When days aren't great, you plan out your next
trip to Disneyland
(Nov '18, here we come!)

Probably my favorite moment of the WEEK:
Aaron was in charge of his first F.H.E lesson (again, Travis helped) and
it was on sharing AND it was about the CUTEST thing;
my heart nearly burst with joy!!
