Our final chapter in Iowa/The Move

In our final days we were able to have so many farewells. We had dinners, parties, dinner parties, late nights, game nights, double date nights, visits, calls, walks, talks, dr’s apts, dental cleanings, surgeries, MRI’s, you name it… we did it. All of us; even the dogs.
I was released as young women’s President and a part of me died inside. I don’t know if those girls will ever understand how much I love them like my own family.
We had so many people come out to help us pack up our house and load our trucks. And when we realized just how much STUFF we own and that we’d need to pick up a third truck the next day, we had people come back and continue to help us.
I love all my Iowa people and miss them tremendously.

Maddix and Aaron spent their final night in Iowa at Callum and Kael’s; they even walked Aaron home at 3am so he could hit the road with uncle Garett in their truck. Gpa Vaughn and Gma Lori also hit the road in their truck. Addie and Avery spend their last night in Iowa over at Lexi’s house with her and Finlee; it was so sweet.
We didn’t end up getting on the road until 3:00pm and decided we’d drive through the night. Friends brought us all kinds of road trip bags and packs of snacks. As we pulled out of the neighborhood, Lexi and Finlee flanked us on their bikes and tried keeping up with us, crying and yelling goodbye…. Let me just say, I hadn’t shed a tear over the move UNTIL that moment. And then the tears wouldn’t stop coming.

Eventually we made it to our Orem Utah house where we were greeted with a wonderful moving in party. They were all so nice to even come back and help unload our third truck that was running behind.

Once the trucks were unpacked and returned, the real work began… and unfortunately Travis had to turn around and fly back to Iowa to finish his last month of work, while living in our camper.
