Medical Conference in Maui, Hawaii!!!

 What a trip!

Travis had a medical conference Mon-fri from 8am-12pm. While he sat in on lectures and listened to the most updated medical care practices, I… did whatever I wanted!

Most mornings that comprised: exercise, beach walks, meditation, scriptures/talks/prayer, journaling, phone calls, long showers, staying in bed, and going to pick up food with another wife that was there. It’s amazing how easy it was to pass a morning alone and how much I could get done uninterrupted.

When travis returned our days consisted of: food, hikes, drives (like road to Hana), beaches, luaus, more hikes, snorkeling, lots of sea turtles, and more food! We did two different hikes that were Trav’s favorites. One was around a volcano. The other was up a mountain and right into some heavy and thick clouds that curtained around us and blocked out all other views.

The most memorable view from the trip was watching the sunset from atop a 10,000ft elevation mountain top. All I could think was “this must be what God’s view looks like.” I can’t imagine it gets any prettier than that view!

Thanks to Travis’s jet lag our days were long and we soaked them in for all they were worth. Up everyday be 2:30am to 4:00am we didn’t miss a single sunrise. Nor did we miss a single sunset. We even had a special treat to swim in the pool at 4 in the morning, alone and under the stars. Then as the sun rose we made our way to the sand and watched the sunrise from the beach.

What a trip. Just, wow. At first Maui wasn’t our favorite, but it grew on us. And the trip was made even nicer because we were able to go with some friends from work. They were perfect to travel with because when we were together it was always more fun, but they were just as apt to want time to do their own things as we were, so it made us perfectly suited to travel together!

Aloha! Until we meet again!
