Spring Biking Break & Avery’s 2nd Bday!

Spring Break:
Grandma Lori came to town which allowed us to play some Ultimate Frisbee in some unseasonably warm weather, and then head off to Arkansas for our Annual biking trip (little girls not allowed).
While there we biked, are LOTS of delicious food, started watching the Marvel movies, in order, read Harry Potter a lot, and spent the rainy day playing catch out back and playing at an indoor trampoline park... which is where I fell on a slack line and royally messed up my ribs and the surrounding muscles. I actually just had an x-ray to see if broke them because I’ve been bed ridden (friends and friend from church have been keeping us afloat!)
I was able to get my hair done and it’s my FAVORITE color I’ve had in a long time!
We were also able to attend the temple for the first time in I don’t know how long! A young man from our ward, whom we just love, invited us to be apart of his guests to come to the temple while he took his endowments out; he will be leaving for two years on a mission for our church. It was a special day to say the least.
And today we celebrated Avery’s 2nd bday (it’s technically tomorrow)! She wanted an Olaf bday and he loved loved loved her cake.
Happy birthday to our sweet and salty little Avery doodle!

Playing catch up: Winter Days, My birthday trip, Valentine’s Day, and a girls trip

 January

Winter this year has been short and sweet! Lots of sunshine, only 2-3weeks of the freezing cold that keeps you in, which we enjoyed for our legos/x-box/snuggle by the fire days. Aaron loved wrestling. The boys each started travel baseball’s indoor practices. Lily spent a few days each week playing at the doggy daycare. Our Neighbor’s installed an ice rink in their backyard that the kids had a blast playing on, and tons of snow for fun snow days!

February

My birthday this year was just wonderful. We celebrated it over several days and included a weekend away to Minneapolis for me and Travis. This trip was EXACTLY what I needed and I felt incredibly loved and spoiled the whole time. On my actual bday Travis decorated the dining room, took care of dinner, and bought me a delicious ice cream cake. And my kids each did a wonderful job also making my day special.

Valentine’s Day was the best of both worlds this year.  Saturday Travis and I were able to go out alone for lunch and then run some errands. Sunday, Travis went all out on decorating the dining room and we enjoyed a delicious dinner as a family, our traditional treats, and then some dancing in the kitchen afterward; it was perfect.

Travis took the boys snowboarding for their first time and they loved it! I see many more of these outings in our future.

We also made it to see our dear friend, Gideon open his mission call to Idaho; he leaves in just a few weeks.

Cobra Kai ... this is mine and Trav’s new obsession... why must we wait a year for the next season?! Who has to wait for tv shows anymore. Ugh.

March

So far this month is off to an AMAZING start! The spring has arrived early and melted all the snow out of our yards already! With the sunshine has brought all the motivation back to eat healthy, exercise, spring clean, and think non-stop about all the plans we have for Spring/summer/vacations! Let the hibernation season end and the living seasons begin!!

This weekend, I was able to go on a girls weekend with a few friends before one of them moves back to Utah. We enjoyed chatting LOTS. We did an escape room and made it on their record board. We enjoyed the hot tub, delicious food. An awesome gym time, and stayed up WAY too late. I’m so grateful to all those involved with allowing us to have a little quality time together to say goodbye.

And that’s a brief catch-up! Now we are gearing up for a VERY busy next 4months. We have soccer starting up for me and Maddix which will be once a week and each weekend. We have travel ball twice a week and nearly every weekend for both boys until the end of July where we have to travel out of town. Piano lessons and swim lessons each week. Some family trips in there. And we didn’t reserve a landscaper last year... for this spring (I had NoOo idea you had to hire so far out) and so now we will be taking on a landscaping project as a family. As well as getting our garden in... oh and we will be doing a triathlon in May... and there is still a ton more I could add in there, but hopefully I’ll do a better job at just updating as we go this year. January/February were rough months, but now I feel like we are all in good places and the girls are getting bigger and each day brings a new step towards the “no baby” phase of life (which I still cry about on and off, but am also excited to embrace), so these blogs might be about to get more exciting again! If we survive it all😂

Heaven help us.
