Went to a Christmas party at Trav's co-workers house... super fun!
Christmas Eve: We made it to church... we may have been 20mins late to a 60min meeting, but I forgot how long it takes to get everyone ready by yourself when you have to feed and burp a baby as well. Back home we baked cookies for Santa, made "Elf donuts," read Christmas books, picked up the house, prepped Sticky buns for Christmas breakfast, opened and read a family history book about Gma Juliene, opened our Christmas Eve Bags over FaceTime with our Grandparents, and had our friend, Shapan over for dinner.
Just before bed Maddix placed Arrows from our cookie plate, down the hall, into his room, and pointed under his bed, where he had placed the cookies in a container and tossed them into the far back corner of the bed. Then he left a note on top of the cookie plate that read, "If you want more cookies they're under Aaron's bed. If you can't reach, wake me up. Love, Maddix. Thank you. Sign here_________."
In the morning he eagerly checked the cookie container and found a trail of cookie crumbs leading to the container which now held a note that read, "Dear Maddix, you're such a clever boy! I didn't want to wake you up though, so I had Nala help me reach the cookies! Merry Christmas! Love, Santa Claus!" And then he even signed Maddix's note! Maddix was overjoyed to have Santa's signature as well as know that Santa had been in his room! And that Santa was very clever this year:)
Christmas Day: The boys woke up at 5:30am and were ready to start the day... just as I was getting to bed after a LONG night of Christmas prepping and baby feeding. So Travis told them they could open their stockings at 6:30am and to let me sleep, then he left to work.
When I FINALLY pulled myself out of bed I found the boys had SHREDDED their stockings apart. There were empty chocolate wrappers, peanut shells broken all over the rug, an empty can of pringles and another 1/2 a can eaten!!! Can you believe no one has puked yet??
Since Travis couldn't get home to open presents until noon we spent the morning reading Christmas books together, scriptures, dancing to Christmas music, eating our Christmas morning pull-aparts, we discovered footprints near our fireplace, a chewed carrot in it, and one in the front yard, and then watched Frosty the snowman... and then FINALLY dad showed up at 1:00pm and it was time to open presents!
We were so spoiled. The boys were overjoyed by every single thing they received from everyone. And Santa really delivered this year! He brought Adeline a cute little outfit. Aaron, a large Rudolph plush toy and Rudolph movie. He brought Maddix a large Mewtwo pokemon pack and the original Pokemon Movie. Lala got a new "baby" teddy bear that she carries EVERYWHERE! Travis received a new high end stomach sleeper pillow, the movie Nerve, and a BYU sweatshirt! Me... :D Well I received a BYU sweater as well, BUT!!!! I also received an Apple 3 Watch!!!!!!
I was SOoOOOoOOOooOOOoooooOO excited, and completely surprised.
Best. Christmas. Ever.
I can't remember the last time i felt so excited or surprised over a present.
After presents Travis was called back to work so we all wrapped in our new blankets and snuggled while watching one of our new movies. That night Susan and Glenn came over to see all our gifts, and then we called it a night! What a wonderful Christmas!
