Our summer has been one of the best we’ve experienced in years, and three things went into making this happen: Covid, a neighborhood full of kids, and the girls being on the same nap schedule!!
We closed out our summer like this:
- Celebrating our 12th Anniversary
- swimming at the neighbor’s
- having Susan over for lunch
- Ultimate Frisbee
- trip to the car wash and grocery pickup
- mountain biking with dad for the boys
- Aaron started swim lessons back up, as well as baseball practice continued.
- we had a new family over for a bbq to get to know them.
- Park day
- had a CRAZY day where the friends ... ALL the friends came over ( not all at once, but at one point there were like 30 kids in my front yard) Like all the neighborhood kids, the fox’s, Cannon’s, the Knowle’s, and our new friend.
- Chatted late with my neighbors
- Superhero girls vs. the villain boys.
- Will and Corbyn came over for the day and they played football, legos, forts, and video games.
- late night games
- late night projector movie at the friends.
- Lake in Emmetsburg with the Fox’s (and brought Heather and baby Josie with us)
-Homemade Cafe Rio
- Family movie night
- Had Ashlynn and Treycen over time spend the night. We played games, for ice cream, played around our front, and they babysat so Travis and I could get out on a proper date night.
- PTC’s to talk over the new hybrid school schedule that we Will be doing this next year.
- And more that I can’t remember
Thank you summer of 2020, you were so good to us. I feel so blessed that in a time of unrest and chaos all around the world we were able to have an honest to goodness simple summer that all childhoods should be made of.
