Trav's two weeks away from school Part 1: Lancaster, Washington D.C., Manhattan, Philly, and more.

To say we've been "on the go" nonstop for the past two weeks would a HUGE understatement.
Travis was supposed to go to Chicago for two weeks to do a rotation, but because it was going to be over Labor Day weekend, there were complications and long story short: Travis had to take a two week forced break and we didn't shed ANY tears over it:D
Costco Run

The dang picture BARELY squished in the back.. with
the windows open... and we couldn't see the boys!
After an awesome weekend together, we spent a few days collecting Travis's letters for Residency Applications then we set off for a few days away from the City! We drove through numerous states, saw some of the most beautiful countryside, and just enjoyed being able to stop where we wanted to, see what we wanted to, and have no deadlines. Another nice thing about this trip was the cost: we had several gift cards saved up from the holidays, we stayed with Travis's Aunt, and it only cost two tanks of gas (and tolls of course)... can you say Awesome??!
We started out with a very MeMoRaBlE trip to Gettysburg, visited Lancaster where I purchased SO much jam from an Amish family, and the boys saw REAL Life Steam Engines! We then made it over to Washington D.C.! I was very impressed. We are LOVING all the rich history we are getting to see being back East. They boys loved the air space museum. Trav's favorite part was the Jefferson Memorial, and the highlight for me was seeing the White House; and we all enjoyed the time we got be with the cousins, of course! Thanks Green Clan for having us!
Goodbye to the City for awhile

Olive Garden in New Jersey on the way home.

We came home Friday and I instantly had to spend the rest of the day doing homework while Trav and the boys got the house cleaned up for my mom and sister's arrival the next day; man I DON'T love being back in school. It truly makes me appreciate all the time Travis has put into studying and studying, and studying!! HE is amazing, and I'm so glad we are passed all those big tests!!
