The Nauvoo Pageant

Aside from many pool days, a YM’s water party in our backyard, and lots of neighborhood play we took some time to travel down to Nauvoo.

This was to our first real trip in the trailer.

We enjoyed our time. There was biking in an extremely humid and muddy tree-lined terrain, with the little girls. It was hot and exhausting and a lot of work with the girls, but it was fun. And the best part was watching Lily run after the boys and then back to us and being so well behaved. Oh we were all so muddy by the end; especially the bikes!

There was also fishing and a major meltdown from Avery. It ended up keeping me back at the trailer with her while Travis took the other three kiddos to the Nauvoo pageant. He said while the pageant was great, the more memorable moment was when they were walking onto the temple property and there were protestors with posters and they were yelling at those who were heading to the pageant. They were shaming them, taunting them, and trying to explain why they were wrong. He said it was just like the great and spacious building and the iron rod.

We were slightly more efficient with the set up and take down, but it’s showing us how much we have to learn.

All in all summer is heading into the best weeks to come!
