First October in Utah

October was full of BEAUTIFUL weather and LOTS of family time. We were lucky enough to have our cousins in town over Maddix’s birthday. Everyone came to watch Maddix running his cross country meet, and he was so excited to have so much support. Over the weekend we all went to Cornbelly’s (a first for us) and had a memorable experience. And then Aunt Larisa took Maddix to the BYU soccer game.

Addie misses two of her closest friends in Iowa, Sophia and Cara. So we’ve been trying to FaceTime. One night it actually worked out for Addie and Sophia to watch a movie together via the iPad and it made my heart melt. They got in comfy pajamas, “shared” popcorn, and giggled all through the movie. I hope there are more to come!

Addie was also able to have an early Halloween party with her primary class, we had Dee over to play with Avery, our cousins came over for many rounds of dress-up; and we enjoyed the ward Halloween party. Avery’s favorite part of the week is her dance class! Aaron has been playing with Teddy down on his property in Payson and they are two peas in a pod.

We were invited to go camping with my Uncle Scott and his family down at Palisades. I’m so glad my kids have some more cousins to run around. Maddix learned what it was like to be the “older” and “looked up to” cousin.

We were also invited to our cousin Clare’s baptism and it was the same day an eclipse, so just after it ended we all stood in the parking lot, switching glasses so we could glimpse it.

We attended Elisa’s Cinderella bday party. Celebrated our annual Apple Day. Stayed after school each afternoon to throw the frisbee and soak in the weather. Travis and I took Lily on a date up Rock Canyon Park and enjoyed the beautiful colors. My dad and Wendy took the girls for the day to celebrate Halloween at the Saratoga Days celebration.

My grandma hosted her Halloween party. Lori hosted her “spooktacular.” My dad and Wendy hosted their Halloween party and their costumes made us feel “unworthy” to be in their presence! The elementary school hosted a cute costume parade outside so everyone could see the children’s costumes.

On actual Halloween Grandpa Vaughn and Aunt Janelle joined us for some trick-or-treating. Maddix stayed home with Treycen to watch a Halloween movie and hand out candy. Addie got sick one culdesac in and went home to lay in bed and watch Coco. Aaron branched off to spend the rest of his trick-or-treating night with Owen Stalvey and his group of little guy friends. Avery and Aaron both very sweetly collected candy for Addie.
