First Sept in Utah

In looking though pictures of the month of September, I’m still amazed at everything we fit in, on top of trying to do construction on this house.

The house: we had to de-spider it. De-mouse it. Remodel the basement. And gut the kids upstairs bathroom because it was crumbling from black mold; ugh, old houses. There were countless other smaller projects that needed attention as well.

Travis: enjoyed his mornings biking to work. Spent every minute at work, devoted to home renovations, or being with the family. He rarely had anytime for himself, but he did get to play in a slow pitch softball league with his brother, Bryce. And I think he got to go biking … once!

Lacey: I’ve been trying to adjust everyone into this new environment, but I’ve been able to get back into waking up early so I can exercise before the day goes nuts. I truly enjoy our routine of walking kids to-from school and allowing the pups some time to stretch their legs. This house feels harder to keep clean because our furniture is oversized here. There aren’t as many places to put all our things… so more Dr-junking will have to occur down the road when we can catch up on all the other projects!
Oh and I got to spend an entire day with my best friend. We went hiking, ate, looked through pics of us growing up, and had dessert; it was such a great day!!

Maddix: participated in cross country and I think he truly enjoyed it. He worked hard each week and made great friends. The best part for him was never knowing just who’d be there to cheer him on; now that we are back, we have had endless support from family showing up to support him!
Best part of being here for Maddix though is that two doors down he’s made good friends with the neighbor boy and they even share the same birthday.

Aaron: I’m most concerned for Aaron because there aren’t any instant friendships or sports that Aaron has jumped into. He has made friends though. But he misses Iowa and the setup he had there. He’s always been my home body though and as long as he can be worth his family, he never complains. He plays with his sisters, video games with his brother. Loves family movies and helping dad with home projects. He enjoys our outdoor time and has had some cool get togethers with friends, including the day he the boys walked all the way down to get food, without adults.

Adeline: she enjoyed a girls night she and Avery were invited to with the “big girls” they are friends with. They watched Barbie, did make overs, ate yummy treats, and danced. She did NOT want to leave!
She is loving school, and school loves her. She even had “three boys fighting over me!” Now I think there is one boy that won out against the others.

Avery: is our last kid at home! She is doing homeschool with me and I’m soaking in this last year with her before she joins her siblings in all day school.
I thought she’d miss everyone all day, but she l odd having me all to herself, and getting to choose the daily cartoon; she’s actually bummed when they come home! Ha ha. Except that she loves going out to get them since she can ride her scooter and play with the pups!
And for about a week she had this weird tummy bug where she threw up for three days solid and just couldn’t feel better; it was so sad!

Our family:
- we celebrated my Grandpa’s birthday and had fun getting to know the cousins again.
- We cleaned the church and then went to True Religion for breakfast after; it was amazingly good!
-We celebrated the most epic Pirate Day to date! My mom and Date joined us and they went all out!
- we had a “Day at the Farm” with my mom where we milked goats, held chickens, collected honey from the bees, and had a great time.
- we’ve explored our mountains and town
- and painfully been cheering on our Cougs this football season… sigh
- we have a favorite spot in the house already: the front room window seat. It’s everyone’s favorite. Especially on rainy days!

September was a lot of fun… and it’s only the beginning!
