Last Blog from New York ~Sad Day~

I'll skip the soap box I've been hopping on to proclaim my love of this infectious City... but you know.
Monday& Tuesday
We cleeeaaannneeeddd, But we had fun doing it!
Wednesday
The madness began. Vaughn, Lori, and Garett (Trav's fam) arrived bright and early. This day we hit the Museum of N.H., ate lunch on the wall at Central park, Travis surprised us by catching up at the end of the park, then we meandered to Little Italy/China Town before heading home to a dinner of Rosa's pizza. YUM
Thursday
I woke up to an email that my teacher rescheduled her week's homework and I had to stay home and finish her projects while the in-laws so graciously took the boys with them for a day of Rockefeller, 5th ave, St. Patrick's Cathedral, The Plaza, and Central park for lunch before coming home and enjoying dinner of Columbian Empanadas from Mama Empanadas.
Friday
BEACH DAY!!!!
We drove out to Robert Moses Beach, to Fire Island lighthouse. Not only had I never seen a lighthouse, this was also from my all time favorite movie, What Happens in Vegas! It was pretty chilly, but all around so fun. I napped, and woke up to all the adults playing Bocce while the boys were digging away. Add in some catch and handstand contests and you have a perfect day at the beach. We had Chinese Take-out for dinner.
Saturday
Yankees vs. The Rays
We took the subway up to the Bronx to catch what was a great, but slow game. At the end of the game Aaron declared he needed Travis to take him to the bathroom... not too long after this an amazing home run was hit. MY REACTION: Yes, yes, oh... no no no no! Travis is going to be so mad!!!! Then Frank Sinatra comes on and the crowd goes nuts. TRAVIS'S REACTION: I was in the bathroom listening to Aaron do his business... and then I hear Franky start playing and the crowd cheering and I'm like, "you're kidding me."
And was he upset.... YUP! Aaron will never live this down. The one condolence in this story is that Travis found an unopened Babe Ruth Bobble head left under a seat that they were handing out and we weren't able to get earlier. So that's sort of a win, right? Then we ended the night with Wings and a veggie tray
Sunday
I rode with Emily and Cory to church where we practiced and then performed a version of "I know That My Redeemer Lives." I really enjoyed having family there to hear me for once, and Kossi even came; this final Sunday was a hard one to get through. There were too many goodbyes and too many faces I'm not read to say goodbye to. How do you just move again and leave all these people behind... again? I Love you all Rego 1st ward, every last one of you! After a nice pancake lunch we drove down to Brooklyn and enjoyed a Sunday stroll through the Botanical Gardens; those Cherry Blossoms are quite beautiful. And I loved watching the boys run around with their maps finding matching leaves and wildlife; I'm so glad we got to experience that before we left. Spaghetti for dinner, and now prepare for a HUGE photo DuMp!
