A BiRtHdAy UpDaTe

Well this entry is dedicated to the wonderful and amazing Travis, who turned 27 yesterday. He explains it as his slippery slope to turning 30. Lucky for us everyone in the world keeps living longer, resulting in everyone staying younger; 50's the 40, 40's the new 30. By the time Travis does turn 30 the driving age will probably have been moved to 21 and He can feel even younger... anyway,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!
All week (and really the previous week as well) Travis has been pushing along really studying for an upcoming test he was having on Friday. The day finally came and he even got out of class early. To celebrate a little early (and without Maddix), we arranged with Seena and Ahshaytha (AK-Shay-TA) to watch Maddix at their place while we went out to dinner. We thoroughly enjoyed going to a nice sit down restaurant where we weren't concerned about how long it would take to get the food before Maddix would become bored. We ate at this place that was built in the 1700's I think, and something to note about the Poles, they LOVE to eat downstairs; everywhere you go that is really nice, it's underground. So we went down and ate in a room that was built out of brick and rocks. The architecture was magnificent and I sort of felt like we were in a wine cellar. When dinner came we were not disappointed, only that I forgot my camera to take a picture of the work of art! We started with a beautiful/delicious Greek salad and fancy onion rings ( I know that doesn't sound fancy, but they were), then our meal was a large serving of Roast Beef on top of potatoes and seasoned green beans.  They had even drizzled sauce on the plate to give it that much more affect:) All in all it was a wonderful night.
Day 2 of His Birthday Celebration!!
Saturday, December 1 (oh happy December by the way) was Travis's (side note: I just learned that you are supposed to use an apostraphy s, even when the word ends in an S. You only use s' when it is a plural that ends in s. Weird) Birthday. We started out the day.... slowly. We all just stayed in pj's, watched morning cartoons, ate some tasty German Pancakes, laid around some more, and then finally got up and went to the Grocery Store which proved QUITE SUCCESSFUL as we took Maddix threw the toy aisle. Let's just say Santa will not fail to disappoint this year (more on that later)! After the store we rushed home to put it all away and then went down to the mall. It was when I was fishing around for bus times that Travis gained a clue, and when we reached the mall and he saw me constantly checking texts that he realized he'd walked into a surprise party:) His wonderful classmates and I had been planning the party for two weeks. They all jumped right in with booking the bowling lanes, assigning ppl to bring plates, and even a cake. When we showed up everyone was there so we ordered some pizza and bowled for a few hours; all the while Maddix was a TERROR, something he commonly is in public these days. The classmates ate it up. Each person rotated throwing him in the air, muscling him around, following him as he climbed all over different seats, and taking him up to help him bowl on his turn:) They were sweet, and he is far to spoiled by them.
When the Pizza came I tried to pay for it and about 4 or 5 of the people jumped in front of me and refused to let me pay. Same thing happened over the bowling games. They said it was their present to Travis and there was no way we would pay anything. After bowling we took the cake to the food court and sang Happy Birthday.  Then went our ways. Our taxi driver nearly took someone out on our way home... so that was an exciting/terrifying end to the day.
Happy Birthday, hope you had a great time, and I hope you enjoyed the cake. I did not cook it this year so that this birthday you could actually eat the cake! Maybe I'll shoot for a catastrophe next year ;).
