The First Week in New York

Monday came and we were on the move! Literally, bright and early we started moving in. By the time all our missionaries showed up we were practically done unloading the truck so I rounded up one of the sets of elders, along with the sisters and we decided to grab some Dunkin Donuts for everyone.... which by the way DUNKIN DONUTS RUNS NEW YORK, there is seriously one on every corner!

So when Travis told me just to walk and find one I thought it'd be easy enough; however, when I googled the nearest one it said it was 4 miles away, so we decided to drive. And then from there it routed us the most WRONG way possible. Needless to say, we ended up at one that was like 10 miles away which takes seriously 30-40 minutes to travel. On the way home we passed TWO Dunkin Donuts just around the corner from my house... LIKE .2miles! :) The missionaries said to think of it as service time and getting to know the neighborhood. ha ha.

So we got all the boxes in, and lots of them unpacked and then enjoyed some Chinese Takeout on the floor! What a way to break in the new apartment.

I wish the weather could have been better while everyone was here. It was SO DANG COLD! Like negatives with inches and inches of snow, but that didn't stop everyone from running around. And we even accompanied them on some of the days. We got to see the Natural History Museum (a small part of it, which was Maddix's FAVORITE part), Time Square, The Jimmy Fallon Studio, ate at Magnolia Bakery, China Town, Little Italy, and my favorite, Carnegie Hall for the Piano Guys Concert; throw in running around with two boys who were freezing, taking the subway back all by ourselves, trying to settle in to our new home, Vaughn's birthday, a movie night/homework night with everyone, and Travis getting the weekend off, you really have our first week here in a nutshell!

Now enjoy some photos while I enjoy a movie with my Husband that I have back now :)

Could it get more New Yorkist than this?

Goodbye Familia! Thank you so much for accompanying us on this crazy adventure; we are going through withdrawals of thinking you guys are still going to be here each evening. Aaron kept yelling out, "Gwampa... Gwampa!!" All day.
