Our Independence DAY- Weekend

Honestly our independence day came in a strand of days.
One of the most amazing and important days was Friday the 3rd: this was the day that our past three years of medical school have built up to... Travis took his final BIG and IMPORTANT exam of his medical school career!!!!!!
Does this mean he won't have anymore tests or quizzes? No.
Does this mean he doesn't have to study at all? No.

But what it means is this was the LAST exam that will be added on to his applications for residency. The rest of these tests are just to keep your fresh and not crucial :)
So what this does mean is no more weeks of 6-on call shifts, followed by nights and that day off just studying. What it does mean is when Travis walks in the door he can go right over to his boys and actually get to know them again.
It means that on nights where he joins me in the kitchen and we just laugh while we make dinner, there is no guilt attached. We actually get days off together; I'm still wrapping my head around this concept :D

We are so excited and we haven't waisted any time! Travis literally finished his exam and started driving over to the Yankees Stadium where he met up with Me, Maddix, the Castle's, the Sorensen's, and my cousin's family who came to town and joined us for the game. It was Mormon Night at Yankees Stadium so we got to hear the Mormon Tabernacle Choir sing a few numbers, and we got to enjoy the game with a stadium full of members; it was such a neat experience to see a section full of just Missionaries, etc. While at the game the Castle's SPOILED us all with buckets of chicken, fries, bags of cracker jacks, and ice creams for the kids; it was a night for the books.

July 4th was a great day also. I realized that will all our moving around, this was the first time I wasn't in Utah for the 4th celebrations; I really missed running the parade route in the Freedom Festival, however we had a great day making new memories. We joined the Castle Family at Jone's Beach and just enjoyed a day on the sand surrounded by all sorts of cultures and backgrounds. While Aaron and I were sitting in the sand at the edge of the waves there were two women just sitting in the sand singing and harmonizing to themselves, and I have to say it was pretty moving. Then it started to rain a bit... which surprisingly was pretty fun also. That night we barbecued with our good friend John and called it a night.

That very next morning our little Aaron celebrated his 2nd birthday:) He is the truest 2 year old I know. Full of 'tude. Full of Mischief. Full of Spunk. But oh man, I can't get enough of his smile. His laugh. Anything he says is just adorable in his little voice. And man he can melt your heart when he runs over and just HAS to have a kiss. Or, I love when I pick him up and very unexpectedly he will wrap his arms around my neck and squish his little cheeks into mine. I'm smiling just writing about it.  He does the cutest thing where he makes kissy noises and puckers up his lips and has to get a kiss from each family member before he has a nap or goes to bed. And when it is Maddix's turn he says "Bud," And makes the kiss noise.
Right now his favorite toy is "jetblue!" It's this plane Travis bought on one of his flights and has become an extension of Aaron's body. He's never taken to a toy like he has with this one. It's the first thing he goes for when waking up. And if he is sad it will usually cheer him up. Ahh! This kid. I just love him. I wish I could remember all the adorable things he does, but those are the main things that melt me constantly. OH, and he is sleeping in a big boy bed. He does so well with it. He falls asleep right away and rarely even gets out once. He's really a good sleeper. So Happy Belated 2nd Birthday Aaron Falco!
