~A Sweet Sunday~

I wish I'd written this blog earlier when everything was fresh in my head.
First off, we woke up to snow. Real Snow. So the first thing Maddix wanted to do was:
He was so excited to go out and play with his snow, but he eventually opened the door and said, "I need more snow mom." It's in the forecast for it to keep snowing the next few days, so he might get his wish.
He just looked so cute today
I just had to add these of how PERFECT his hair turned out today!

So then we went to church where we met our new Elder, Elder Ripmanic (yeah, it took me all day to memorize it). He's from Provo, played football for Timpview, and is going to be a lineman for BYU when he returns from his mission.            -Pictures to come of him-

So after staying late at church to discuss how exciting it was to have so many investigators show up today, we went home and wondered if we should put Maddix to sleep or keep him up because it was late. We decided to keep him up.  HOWEVER, during lunch he let us know what he wanted:
It was just a split second change but he was out. Travis asked him if he'd like to go to bed and he just put his hands out... meanwhile mean mom was just taking pictures:)
Poor guy has been so out of his schedule, and to top it off today we had Day Light Savings and so now we're officially pitch black at 4:00pm. I have mixed emotions about this. Needless to say I've felt like going to bed for the last 5 hours. Instead, we had the Elders over and experienced two Elders at once that can pack their food away:) Since we've come here it has always been one Elder that can pound a few plates while the other fills up instantly. But these two..... whooo. We're going to have to switch to Pastas and Stews! Just kidding. We love them both. They're great.

I feel like I had.... OH!!! I remember what I wanted to say. So we got a knock at the door tonight and Maddix was being so loud so we couldn't ignore it. I opened the door and it was a little gypsy woman to wouldn't leave us alone! She kept PUSHING me to buy something even when I told her I spoke no Polish, and had NO money. I guess our wonderful neighbors could here and came to our rescue.... I heard the door open up across the hall and there stood Staniswav in a little t-shirt and underwear; with his wife Ursula hiding behind him. He called the lady over and gestured to me to close my door; all the while we just kept telling the lady she needed to leave! We LOVED it. Even without pants on he came to our rescue!
We have some good people put in our lives watching out over us.

~I've been taken so Literally~

So with my last post where I shouted, "Bring on the Holidays," apparently Mother Nature heard me and said, "Well okay then honey!"
True, it's a few days before many areas in Utah, and it's just a light mist compared to other storms, but you my friends are looking at Lublin's first winter's snow (I'm so glad we went to the store yesterday, instead of waiting until today like I'd originally planned; sure wish I'd remembered milk though!)

Actually I'm so glad I did a many things yesterday.  I'm glad Maddix and I walked Travis down to class and didn't come straight home. We had so much fun taking the scenic route and collecting leaves and acorns as we went. For weeks I keep saying I'm going to collect of ton of leaves for projects and yesterday we finally did:) Maddix was so happy. And that made me so happy. And if we'd waited for today it would be too late. I'm so glad we didn't spend too much time with the T.v. on so that today we can enjoy an extra movie with the cold weather in the background. I'm grateful that I got ready for the day yesterday so that today I could stay in my sweats and not feel disgusted with myself.  I'm glad it's Saturday and I'm a mother of one pretty self reliant boy so that I have all day to just lay around before I have to clean the house in preparation for Sunday.

I'm so glad we're in Poland (although today more than other days I'm missing being home with all our family) where I have the opportunity to be with Maddix and watch every minute of his growth and discovery of life. Anyway, this is turning sappy... probably because I'm tired and my brain is not processing quickly. So that's all for now.
P.s. I have to record that Maddix is really into Finding Nemo right now and after watching it just twice in the past few weeks (and not many times before that) he is quoting the movie non stop. :) "huh? Huh? Do ya, do ya do ay?" "Cooommmeeee Baaaaaacckk." "What's goin on?! ... A boat? Follow me. Thank you so much. No problem." "fishy in my hair!" "Fishy wake up!" And more but he says those all day and wants me to quote the other part back to him ha ha. Love that boy.

BrInG On ThE HoLiDaYs!

It's official. There is a nip in there air (more like a BITE if you're going off of today) and I think it's here to stay.

The leaves are such glorious colors (this photo isn't the prettiest of the trees around, but it paints a picture). And it's even so cold outside that we're having to wear these babies!
This is the coat we bought him for his birthday. We call it his McQueen coat to try and help him like it, but most the time... this is his reaction when he has to wear it:)
It's funny when he lays down like this to throw a fit because he can't get back up. It's a scene right from the Christmas Story. But really we are just loving it here (although sometimes I may vent too much, sorry I'm working on expressing more positivity).  It's such a different experience this time around. It just feels familiar, less foreign, old hat, etc. It's also nice because Travis has had a lot more free time than last semester, although that just changed as of yesterday:) It's okay though, because this little goon and I are up to mischief! Well he is, I'm just trying to keep up

Today he wanted to practice is scary faces, that was just one of the many photos he insisted on taking. Each time he would then say, " Let me see it." The other day he didn't even want to go outside (he hasn't been wanting to go out as much lately). He just wanted to play with his "car mountain." He had a real car mountain at home, but out here, anything with a blanket thrown over it, that has bumps and is steep, is a car mountain to him!
And best of all, yesterday we had our Branch Halloween party. It was held right after the English lesson class and everyone (and there a TON of people compared to normal) who attended that class stayed for the party. It turned out wonderfully. Between Cody's preparation and Jasmine's cooking it was perfect. We enjoyed tasty, yet disgusting looking food, fun games, spooky music in the background, and the best part, PUMPKIN CARVING! I didn't carve one yet because I was helping with food and the games but Travis made an awesome one! I forgot my camera but I stole some pictures from facebook, so here are a few from the party and hopefully I'll find more later:

And then thanks to the party last night we have been extremely in the mood for the holidays so today Maddix and I did an art project and then took Travis' pumpkin and decorated our entertainment center:)
Happy Holidays (not the last time I will end a post with that farewell over the next few months:)
