California Trip: Day 2

After a lazy morning at the house we packed up the car and took off to Orange County to meet up with our friend John for lunch.
You know, it's funny, but when I saw John it almost made me feel like my trip in Poland wasn't some elaborate dream that I just had... instead, seeing him in California confirmed that we really did go live in Poland the past almost two years.

After lunch we made our way back to Lee's and enjoyed a really fun afternoon out in the pool with all the cousins.

what that was:)

Then after an extremely fun time with the family we cleaned up and made our way to Ajay (Trav's classmate)'s reception. I was completely bummed because the day before we were unable to find a babysitter and were unable to make the actual wedding to see him ride in on the horse, and all the amazing traditions so I was extremely excited to go to the reception. Once again we couldn't find a sitter so we took the boys with us... at 8:00pm at night.

The moment we walked in the room
you could smell flowers all around
and it's not surprising why
When we first pulled up to the hotel where the reception was being held we discovered a never ending line of cars to get into the wedding; and these cars were nice nice cars like Maserati's, Ferrari's, Lamborghini's, etc and they had license plates that read "Rajit," "Sunjab," and "Sanjeet" ha ha it was awesome. Once we got inside we wondered how we might find Ajay in the crowd. Even if he had been in the crowd, we would have never found him; John on the other hand was EXTREMELY easy to spot: He was the 6' 7" white man standing in the crowd of shorter Indian guests.

It was beautiful and fragrant

Waiting at the table

Welcoming in the newly wed couple
I'm pretty bummed we had the boys, even though they were very well behaved (thanks boys!) because by the time they brought the wedding couple in and introduced them we pretty much needed to go. The order of the wedding goes backwards at their wedding: First they introduce the couple, share a wedding dance, cut the cake, then the dinner was at 10:00pm, etc, so you can see why I was sad to leave early. Now I have to note something funny before we left. As we were talking with the guests at our table the waiters came around and readied our beverages for the toast. Travis waved his off at first but they assured him it was simply Martinelli's Apple Cider... however mine was Apple Cider because they assumed I was breastfeeding, the cup next to mine was for Maddix so his was cider... but the glass for Travis was NOT cider, and unfortunately he didn't figure that out until AFTER his mouth was on fire, this throat was prickling, and his stomach had an instant lurching; ha ha ha Travis had his first gulp of Champagne! he he he. He felt so sick and I realized my man probably wouldn't be one who could hold his own liquor;) Oops for innocent mistakes!
